In 2014, the average cost of health insurance per employee was $9,504 — the average cost to employers was $6,276 and employees paid an average of $3,228, according to the 2014 United Benefit Advisors Health Plan Survey.
UBA’s survey also revealed several trends and developments that “bear scrutiny and the ongoing attention of employers interested in making the most informed health care plan decisions possible,” an executive summary of the survey says.
While the benefits industry has seen a whirlwind of change since the rollout of health care reform began, the full impact of the Affordable Care Act has yet to be felt and advisers are still bracing for its aftermath.
